Dry Eye Is as Common as It Is Uncomfortable — And We Can Help

Experts estimate that somewhere between 16 and 49 million Americans suffer from dry eye disease: up to 15% of the population.1 If your eyes feel itchy, watery, gritty, or stingy, you’re not alone — and you don’t have to accept your dry eye. You should go to an eye doctor for help!

But before you choose just any optometrist, consider this. Tears are made up of three components: water, mucus, and oil. You want an eye doctor who can tell which of these ingredients your tears are lacking, and why you’re low on it. Otherwise, all their solutions may be only temporary.

That’s where we come in. At our La Paz, Brookhurst, North Tustin Ave, and Mission Viejo optometric centers, we have the technology to diagnose the unique causes of your dry eye case, and the treatments to provide fast relief and lasting results.

Why Choose Our Optometric Centers

Since 1973, our vision centers have provided families across Southern California with high-quality, technology-driven eye care with a personal touch. To us, patient experience means everything: we take the time to get to know you and involve you in your care, ensuring you leave with a full understanding of our advanced eye screenings and your eye health. Our dry eye treatment is one of our most common, and appreciated, services — we use the latest diagnostic technology to determine the root cause of your specific case, then develop a customized plan with you to deliver lasting relief and vision clarity.

Our Treatment Options

Once we’ve identified the root causes of your dry eye, we can take action with one, or a combination, of these proven treatments:

  • Dry eye drops & artificial tears: With a variety of dry eye drops and artificial tears on the market, both prescribed and over the counter, our eye doctors can match you with the best drops for you, such as Oasis TEARS®.
  • Eye health supplements: There are a variety of supplements, like EyePromise®, that can improve your tear and overall eye health and function. These often include omega-3 fatty acids or vitamin A.
  • TearCare®: This wearable technology gently heats the eyelid, painlessly unblocking meibomian glands so our doctors can manually express them to restore oil to your tears.
  • LipiFlow®: For dry eye caused by meibomian gland disorder (MGD), or clogged eyelid glands, LipiFlow® gently pulses heat energy into these glands to get them flowing again.
  • Punctal plugs: These safe, microscopic devices are placed in the tear duct to regulate tear draining. Our experts provide this highly effective procedure to great success.

Best service I have ever had from a support staff. Most through eye exam in my 40 year history of wearing glasses. Dr spent an inordinate amount of time insuring that my contacts were a perfect fit.

So impressed! The office is welcoming and clean. The team that works here are very professional, kind, and caring. Booking the appointment online was super easy and they got me in right away. The doctor was very kind and took her time explaining everything. They truly understand the customer service intersection when it comes to people, place, and process. I even received and personal brochure explaining my glasses. Highly recommend!!

This is a very clean, respectful, and comfortable optometrist’s office. My young child is a patient and we love the new technology and service that she receives for her vision needs. They are good at working with existing frames and getting new lenses and fill our orders quickly.”
